{\page \name={Campus Bandwidth Management} \author={Ben Teitelbaum} \keywords={} \description={} \stylesheet={cbm-style.css} {\h1 Campus Bandwidth Management (CBM)} Managing campus network resources, particularly congested commodity access circuits, is an increasing challenge for many campus network operators. Internet2 campuses have adopted a wide-variety of approaches including application-level rate-limiting, per-IP rate-limiting, shaping, quota systems, and usage-based charge-back systems. The QoS working group has sponsored several panels and BoFs on campus bandwidth management and a new Internet2 working group is being chartered explicitly to discuss CBM alternatives and their implications. Stay tuned. {\h2 Resources} {\ul {\li {\a \href=cbm-matrix.html Matrix of Approaches and Tradeoffs} (Los Angeles, CA - October, 2002)} {\li {\a \href=http://www.internet2.edu/qos/wg/200205-Arlington.shtml Campus Bandwidth Management BOF} (Arlington, VA - May, 2002)} {\li {\a \href=http://www.internet2.edu/qos/wg/200201-Tempe.shtml QoS Appliances: Disease or Cure?} (Tempe, AZ - January, 2002)} } {\hr} {\colophon} }
